Diane Griggs

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I am Diane Griggs owner or Angel Palms Therapies based in Chester-le-Street and have been established there since 2009.
My background before becoming a therapist was in sales during which time I worked as a Sales Representative covering large areas and meeting lots of people.
In 2008 I decided it was time to make big changes in my life as my job had become very stressful and was making me anxious and that was when I discovered Reiki. I had several reiki treatments and could not believe the difference it made in me! So I took the decision to leave my very well paid position as an Area Sales Manager and embark on a whole new way of life, and I can honestly say I have never regretted it for a moment and have never looked back.
I qualified as a Reiki Practitioner in 2009 and became a Reiki Master in 2010 and began teaching reiki in 2011.
I then became very interested in Hypnotherapy and the results it could have on a person’s life.
I completed my Hypnotherapy Diploma in 2012 and have practised it since, with some amazing results.
More recently in May 2017 I completed and qualified as a Facial Reflexologist. This type of reflexology is not as well known as foot reflexology and I discovered it myself last year whilst on holiday where I had a session at a Spa and was overwhelmed with this lovely treatment and its healing qualities.
I now hold a position which I thoroughly enjoy and making a difference to my clients wellbeing and health is a wonderful experience.
Elly Nevin

I came to Angel Palms with over 10 years experience working alongside Physiotherapists as a massage therapist, my specialism is deep tissue massage and injury prevention. I qualified from Sunderland University in 2007 with a degree in Complementary Therapy and Community Health and have since developed my skills further in order to provide the best possible treatment for you.
My background prior to embarking upon my own business in 2015 was in Substance Misuse services working with adults around their use of illicit substances in Hartlepool and County Durham from 2007. I enjoyed supporting people with their journey to sobriety and offering education around the risks of drugs and alcohol as well as harm prevention. I took a career break in 2010 in order to travel, visiting California, Australia and New Zealand. I ticked off a few bucket list items before returning home and continuing my work in substance misuse, this time with young people in Middlesbrough.
In 2014 my daughter was born, which gave me a whole new perspective on life and a drive to provide for her while being at home more, so I created my own business in 2015 and started working in a physiotherapy practice, which worked well around childcare. This evolved my own practice, I learned a lot about human movement and muscle dysfunction, postural analysis and injury prevention/recovery. I completed courses for professional development to enhance my practice further, including Life Coaching, Reflexology, Indian Head Massage, Pregnancy Massage, Oncology Massage, Reiki (first and second degree), Crystal Therapy and Holistic Facials.
Having worked with Physios for over 10 years I was ready for another change, which brought me to Angel Palms in March 2026. I bring with me all the skills I’ve learned from experienced practice and a thirst to learn more about energy healing and emotional wellbeing.
I absolutely love my work, someone once said to me “If you can find a job that you love, you won’t feel like you’ve worked a day in your life” and that’s true for me. Feeling like I am supporting people in taking positive steps with their health and wellbeing is a real privilege and the fact that they trust me with that is an honour.
